It has been a rough couple of days here on the homestead. My cow has mastitis . My husband was out of town until last night so I had to treat her on my own. She was really good about everything and my 11 yr old was a big help but I have been pretty stressed. My husband keeps reassuring me that it is a mild case and she will be fine but I have heard soooo many mastitis horror stories that I am freaked. My poor cow is so full of antibiotics she practically sloshes when she walks . But I don't care as long as she gets better. We can't use her milk for 96 hours from today IF we don't have to give her any more medicine. I have been milking her 3 times a day and massaging her udder. We tried to give her a shot of LA200 this morning and she practically tore the barn apart. (It burns as it goes in) So I'm hoping she doesn't need any more of those. So keep your fingers crossed. And pray.
Blessings.
The LA200 is good stuff. It should clear up her infection in a few days. It sounds like you caught it before it got to bad. It sounds like your 11 year old got a good lesson in veterinary care. God Bless. mj
ReplyDelete....all the could think of while reading this was "better the cow than YOU!" lol
