Sure signs it's almost Thanksgiving at our house:
I have used 3 lbs of butter in the past 2 days.
The Kitchen Aid & the oven have been in constant use for the last 48 hours.
If it held still long enough it was dusted, vacuumed & mopped.
My 2 year stuck his head in the back door & gleefully announced " Hey Mom! The turkey is dead!"
Have a blessed day :)

Walk like an Egyptian
In our continuing study of Egypt this week we made costumes, ceremonial collars & pottery.
Today we had a traditional Egyptian meal.
We got everybody decked out in their Pharaoh Finery to take some photos & enjoy our meal.
The Royal Family
The meal: fish, flat bread, dried fruits, figs, dates & nuts.
And yes, those are Fig Newtons ;)
Our pottery.
We had lots of fun learning some new skills & we always enjoy trying new foods from different cultures. :)
Blessings.

15
Yesterday my second born turned 15.
Don't ask me how it happened because I have no idea.
He is not a little boy anymore.
He is as tall as his dad.
His pants are 29x36.
He got his braces last month.
He can drive (with confidence).
He got his first deer this year.
He is such a hard worker.
Thoughtful.
Generous.
Creative.
Silly.
For his birthday we got him a long-wanted welder. We found a fabulous deal on Craigslist. We got a welder, extra rod, gloves & the fancy automatic mask for less than the cost of the mask alone, new.
He is a happy camper. :)
He spent the day yesterday in the garage perfecting his technique.
And he made me the horse shoe towel holders I have been waiting 7 years for his dad to make ;)
He is awesome.
Happy Birthday to my Schmoo.
Thank you Lord for putting such an amazing young man in my life.
Blessings.
